Specially engineered for heavy industrial welding. The Magnus Series delivers reliable CC/CV output for ARC/MMA and MIG/MAG (GMAW) applications from 250A to 600A — built with advanced MODULE IGBT inverter technology for energy efficiency and arc stability.

Process Overview :

What is Submerged Arc Welding (SAW)?

Submerged Arc Welding is an automatic arc welding process where the arc is formed between a continuously fed wire electrode and the workpiece — entirely under a blanket of granular flux.

The flux layer shields the arc from atmosphere, eliminates spatter, and produces a clean, deep-penetration weld consistently. This makes SAW ideal for thick plates and long-seam welding where manual processes cannot match the quality or speed.

Unlike SMAW (Arc / Stick Welding) or MIG Welding, SAW requires minimal operator intervention and is best suited for semi-automatic or fully automatic production lines.

  • Wire feed into joint

Continuous wire electrode is automatically fed into the weld joint by the SAW tractor head.

  • Flux blanket applied

Granular flux is deposited ahead of the arc, covering the weld pool completely.

  • Submerged arc melts metal

Arc burns beneath flux — no UV radiation, no spatter, deep penetration achieved.

  • Flux recovered & reused

Unfused flux is recovered by the Flux Recovery System and reused — reducing waste.

Machine Capabilities : Key Features of APS SAW Machines

Built for continuous heavy-duty operation where consistency, speed, and weld quality cannot be compromised.

  • High Deposition Rate

Up to 3x faster deposition compared to manual arc welding — ideal for high-volume production lines.

  • Deep Penetration

Welds thick plates and heavy structures in fewer passes, reducing time and heat distortion.

  • CC / CV Mode (CCCV)

Constant Current and Constant Voltage modes — suitable for diverse wire and flux combinations.

  • Automation Ready

Compatible with SAW tractors, Column & Boom setups, welding rotators, and positioners.

  • OC / OT / UV / OV Protection

    Comprehensive protection: over-current, over-temperature, under/over voltage safeguards built-in.

  • Flux Recovery System

Reclaims unfused flux automatically — reduces consumable wastage and lowers operating cost.
