Process Overview : What is a Multi Operator Welder?

A Multi Operator Welder is a single, shared power source that can simultaneously power two or more independent welding stations — each operated by a separate welder. Unlike individual machines per station, a multi-operator system dramatically reduces capital expenditure, floor space, and energy consumption while maintaining stable output at every station.

The APS Dual Arc Series uses IGBT inverter technology to independently regulate the current at each output, ensuring that the arc at one station is not disturbed when the other operator strikes or changes workpieces. Ideal for SMAW (Stick / ARC welding) applications in shipbuilding, fabrication workshops, and maintenance plants.

Single Power Source Connected

One compact IGBT inverter unit connects to the 3-phase supply — powering two completely independent welding outputs.

Independent Current Control

Each output has its own current setting. Operators independently adjust amperage without interfering with each other.

Simultaneous Welding

Both operators strike arc simultaneously. IGBT regulation keeps each arc stable regardless of the other station’s load.

Arc Force & Hot Start

Arc Force prevents electrode sticking; Hot Start ensures reliable ignition — consistent performance at every strike.

Machine Capabilities : Key Features of APS Dual Arc Machines

Dual Independent Outputs

Two completely isolated welding outputs from one machine — each output runs independently with no mutual interference.

IGBT Inverter Technology

Advanced MODULE IGBT inverter delivers stable, high-frequency arc control with up to 60% less power consumption versus transformer welders.

Arc Force & Hot Start

Arc Force prevents electrode sticking during deep groove welding; Hot Start boosts ignition current for reliable strike every time.

OC / OT / UV / OV Protection

Comprehensive protection: over-current, over-temperature, under-voltage, and over-voltage safeguards built into both output channels.

Compact Footprint

Two welding stations from one compact unit — half the floor space, half the installation cost, double the productive output.

Remote Control Ready

Remote current adjustment capability for each station — operators can set welding parameters from their work position without leaving the joint.

Applications of Multi Operator Welding Machines

  • Shipbuilding & Offshore

Multiple operators welding hull sections simultaneously — fewer machines, faster throughput, reduced cable management overhead.

  • Structural Steel Fabrication

Two welders working on the same structure from one shared power source — ideal for beams, trusses, and steel frame assemblies.

  • Maintenance & Repair Plants

High-cycle maintenance shops where multiple repair bays need reliable stick welding output without dedicating a machine to each bay.

  • Heavy Fabrication Workshops

General fabrication shops running multiple simultaneous jobs — Dual Arc keeps productivity high without multiplying machine investment.

  • Storage Tank Construction

Two welders tackling different seams of the same tank — coordinated welding with independent current control per operator.

  • Rail & Transport Equipment

Bogie frames, wagon bodies, and railcar assemblies where multiple welding stations work on separate joints of the same unit.
